According to BBC “Eight out of ten people under age of 25 are more likely to send a text message than make a call”. Texting is a powerful communication medium that has gained tremendous penetration into populations like UK where 92% of people own a mobile phone.  

Txtfo is a text messaging based innovative product that transforms simple mobile phone into powerful information tool. Txtfo defines itself as - “to request and receive information anywhere”.  

The Problem
Marketing mediums such as billboard, radio, TV, papers and internet all have major limitations that reduce their effectiveness. Some have limited penetration while others are costly and less effective or non-impulsive. Advertisers are looking for new ways to gain access to their target audience and to increase their conversion rates. A market research conducted by Txtfo in 2005 showed that marketerers were proactively looking for a solution that could overcome these problems.

Solution
Txtfo came up with a unique way to use text messaging technology so that marketers could increase their sales. Txtfo feature is added into traditional marketing messages so that customers can respond instantly to the billboard, print, television and radio advertising.  

Digital Prodigy International developed the technology that was launched by some of the biggest brand names in the world like Xbox, iTunes, BT and Samsung. The .NET technology was used to integrate with the SMSC and to deliver scalable and fast performing solution. The product allows users to book their keywords, create text campaigns, connect the messaging inbox to email and easily manage all using step 1-2-3 style easy interface.  

Benefits
Marketeers can reach their customers instantly. The marketing campaigns are measurable since each customer’s response is recorded and reported. Putting a Txtfo number on billboards and print was measured to be 7 times more effective than an email address. Also as compared to showing phone number, Txtfo feature was 3.5 times more effective. Clearly Txtfo enabled the marketeers to achieve better conversion rates utilizing a rather affordable and more accessible medium of marketing.
